Synopsis

An American GI’s chance encounter with a beautiful young dancer leads Paris to become the backdrop to a sensuous, modern romance of art, friendship, and love in the aftermath of war... This is a dance show. The majority of roles, including the leads all must dance.

Character Breakdown

Jerry Mulligan: Superb dancer; good singer; a GI who remains in Paris at the end of WWII; an artist; charming and something of an “innocent” in a complicated world.

Lise Dassin: Superb dancer; good singer; a young French dancer. Sweet, but determined to find her place in her world; pointe work.

Adam Hochberg: Good singer; some dancing; a New York born classically, trained composer living and studying in Paris; an ex-GI; a little caustic; but always sympathetic.

Milo Davenport: Good singer; dances; an American heiress on the prowl for “art” and whatever pleases her.

Henri Baurel: Strong singer; some dancing; son of privileged Parisians who, secretly, wants to be a song and dance man; unsure of his romantic instincts.

Male Ensemble: Superb male dancers; dancers with Extensive Ballet Training including partnering work, Tap and Jazz; good singing is ideal, but some tracks will not need to sing.

Female Ensemble: Superb female dancers; dancers with Extensive Ballet Training including partnering work, Tap and Jazz; good singing is ideal, but some tracks will not need to sing; pointe work a plus.
